A Surprise Blessing
We are surrounded by blessings everyday, but when you receive a surprise blessing, it can bring you such great joy! I had one of these unexpected surprise blessings this week, and I am still smiling about it!
Earlier this week, I came home to a package on the porch. This is not uncommon, but I wasn’t expecting anything. I couldn’t have been more surprised to find this beautiful sign!
A friend of ours, Julie Mynatt, started a business (Happily Ever Engraving) where she makes personalized signs, engraved items, and so many other heirloom type products. When I saw that she made it, I was so touched. I contacted her immediately, only to find out that someone, who wished to remain anonymous, ordered it for me. Although I may not know exactly who sent me this blessing, I know it is from someone I love – how special this will always be!
When you think about it, this is a pretty good representation of how our Father blesses us. Although He has unlimited means and the power to bless us, He uses the people He puts in our lives to fulfill the blessings.
“All must give as they are able, according to the blessings given to them by the Lord your God.” Duet. 16:17
“God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” I Peter 4:10. .
“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” I Cor. 12:7
It is such a privilege for the God of all creation to actually use us to bless others. We must be aware when He gives us a thought or idea to bless someone. I pray that we will each use the blessings and gifts the Lord gives us to bless the people around us. I can tell you that being on this side of the surprise blessing has been very special, and I would like to thank the person who sent it!
