Make the Best of Every Situation

The picture above was the actual weather one day this summer while we were at the beach! It was not so extreme that it was a dangerous storm, but it was definitely enough to keep us away from the beach for the majority of the day. It was not what we wanted or planned!

The townhome was very nice, but after a while, there was a bit of stir-crazy happening. We decided we would make the most of the situation and go bowling. We ended up having a great time.

When we left the bowling alley that afternoon, the rain had stopped, and the sun was shining. We had such a good time bowling, and we were still able to make it to the beach for a little bit.

The Lord gives us many opportunities every day. I wonder how many times we miss them while we try to make our own plans work. Many times it is the alternate plans that give us a great blessing. Don’t miss them!

Scriptures

“… make the most of every opportunity.” Colossians 4:5

.

“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21

I hope you enjoyed the devotional. Please share a time you were disappointed, but you were able to make the best of the situation.

For a similar devotional, Read “Seize the Day,” written by Jay earlier this summer.

Have a Grace & Joy-filled day!

Hello!

Hello!

Welcome! I believe homes and families should be filled with grace and joy! As I think about my life, I can see how my grandmother and my mom poured these beliefs into our home. How fitting that my grandmother's name was Grace and my mother's name is Joy. I hope to share the impact "Grace and Joy" have made on my life and in my home!

I wrote this back in 2006, but the household tips, recipes, and organizational strategies are still relevant as they are filtered through the lens of Scripture.
