An Adult Pumpkin Decorating Party and An Amazing Pumpkin Dip

Just when I thought I was finished posting about pumpkins, something came along that was so beautiful and fun that I had to share it – An Adult Pumpkin Decorating Party with some gorgeous pumpkins!

A friend of mine (Melissa) posted pictures from her adult pumpkin decorating party, asking people to vote on their favorite pumpkin.

A group of friends gathered together to feast and decorate pumpkins.

Each person brought their own pumpkin, whether faux or real.

The host bought all of the succulents and greenery, and they all divided the cost.

They had a great time decorating, eating, and spending time together.

After they finished, she posted them all and took votes. You can see by the pictures that #2 won. I love them all, but I chose #1. Which is your favorite?

Recipe – Pumpkin Dip

Since I am still talking about pumpkins, I wanted to share an amazing Pumpkin Dip! Having it with Ginger Snaps is my favorite, but you could use almost any type of firm cookie with it.

Easy and Delicious!

Ingredients:

1 Pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened
2 Cups of Canned Pumpkin Pie Mix
2 Cups of Confectioners’ Sugar
3/4 t. Cinnamon
1/4 t. Ginger

Directions:

Beat the cream cheese and add the pumpkin pie mix; beat well. Add the sugar, cinnamon, and ginger; beat until smooth. Serve with cookies. Store leftover dip in the refrigerator.

Miscellaneous Ideas

On the Web

If you haven’t seen October’s menu, here is a link to it.

Last week I had an amazing opportunity to go to a book signing in McKinney. The most amazing part was getting to meet two of the ladies I have followed online for sometime. Leslie Saeta from “My 100 Year Old Home” is the author of the book, A Home To Share, and KariAnne from “Thistlewood Farms” is the one who hosted the book signing.

I have followed KariAnne for at least 8 years and have loved seeing pictures of her home, but to see it in person – I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful it is. Here is a picture of her island centerpiece.

You really have to go to the site and see her beautiful home for yourself. Please check out her home tour at Thistlewood Farms here.

If you go to one of Leslie’s latest posts, you can see her book as well as several pictures from that night. She shares how she made the floral arrangement and has pictures of some of the food. It was amazing. Here is a link to her post.

Finds & Fascinations

Amazon

This is more of a question for everyone. I am carefully considering purchasing a book binding machine for a few craft projects I am wanting to do. Does anyone have experience with the one linked below? I just want an opinion before I place the order. You can click the link below the picture for more information.

Weekly Applications

Here are a few applications from Joshua this week:

  • Joshua 11:15 When doing the Lord’s work, halfway is not acceptable.
  • Joshua 13:33 No land or personal property or possession could ever compare with having the Lord as your inheritance.
  • Joshua 18:3 When the Lord gives you a gift, whether it be physical, spiritual, or a dream, don’t delay in taking possession of it.

These are examples of some of the comments I write in the Bibles I am giving to my grandchildren when they graduate. Click here to see the post where I explain this eternal gift idea.

I hope you enjoyed this mid-week post. Please share any thoughts, ideas, recipes, or applications you have.

Have a Grace & Joy-filled day!

Hello!

Hello!

Welcome! I believe homes and families should be filled with grace and joy! As I think about my life, I can see how my grandmother and my mom poured these beliefs into our home. How fitting that my grandmother's name was Grace and my mother's name is Joy. I hope to share the impact "Grace and Joy" have made on my life and in my home!

I wrote this back in 2006, but the household tips, recipes, and organizational strategies are still relevant as they are filtered through the lens of Scripture.
