Weekly Life Applications from the Bible

.

Here are a few weekly life applications from the Bible I received from my quiet time reading in Matthew last week:

  • Matt 13:46 – He was excited to “give up” his things/belongings, because he knew what he was getting in return was far better than anything he had.
  • Matt. 13:13-16 – As an introvert, I love my alone time. I would have taken the opportunity to send them away to eat so I could be alone. Jesus took the opportunity to minister!
  • Matt. 14:33 – The more time the disciples spent with Jesus, the more they learned about Him and the better they knew Him. The same goes for us.

  • Matt. 16:26 – Why do we concern ourselves with the disposable things of this world? This makes me think of the lyrics of one of Toby Mac’s songs “Lose My Soul.”

If you haven’t heard this song, you can hear it here – Lose My Soul” by Toby Mac.

If you have just joined me recently, these weekly life applications from the Bible are examples of some of the comments I write in the Bibles I am giving to my grandchildren when they graduate. Click here to see the post where I explain this eternal gift idea.

I hope you have enjoyed these life applications. Please share any thoughts or insights the Lord has put on your heart this week. It is so encouraging to hear how the Lord speaks to people!

  1. I too treasure alone time to be quiet in the Lord reading and reflecting upon His Word. I am often convicted in the same way (Matt 13:13-16), that I would prefer to be alone than to serve, especially after a long day :/ Praise the Lord for His patience and grace as He transforms us more and more into His image.

  3. Speak to my heart, I’m also an introvert and am my best self when I’ve had plenty of quiet time and alone time. There’s just something about it that completely recharges me. Such a great reminder about concerning ourselves with disposable things too. I’ve tried to keep that idea front and center as I declutter and swear I need to keep something for “some day” the simple truth though is that someone could be using those things today. Sending you hugs and thanks so much for the inspiration, CoCo

    1. Thank you for that inspiration! I’m trying to get rid of lots of things I think I might need one day! I’m going to use this mindset to finally get rid of it!
