Life Applications and Lessons in the Book of Ephesians (Vol. 97)

I am glad you have joined me as we take a look at life applications and lessons in the book of Ephesians. We will take two weeks to go through this book of the Bible. Let’s go ahead and get started.

An open Bible lies on a wooden table adorned with a white lace table runner, a gold candle holder with a white candle, and leafy green branches. The Bible is open to Ephesians, with a decorative page that reads, "You are saved by grace through faith," inspiring daily Life Applications.

I love the picture they chose to go along with the book of Ephesians. I think you will see a common theme in this book – Saved by Grace!

Life Applications and Lessons

“When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. He is the down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory.”
Ephesians 1:13-14

When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive many benefits. He seals us! As wonderful as the Holy Spirit is for us here on earth, He only gives us a taste of what Heaven will be like in His Presence!

“I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength.”
Ephesians 1:17-19

We need to pray this for ourselves as well as for others (to have):

  • In the knowledge of Him:
    • Wisdom
    • Revelation
  • The eyes of our hearts to be enlightened to know:
    • The hope of His calling
    • The wealth of His glorious inheritance
    • Immeasurable greatness of His power

That is a lot to take in at one time. You almost have to read them one line at a time and think about what all it entails!

Inspirational quote on a floral background: “For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,” Colossians 1:9. Perfect for life applications and lessons.

“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler who exercises authority over the lower heavens, the spirit now working in the disobedient. We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also.”
Ephesians 2:1-3

Dead:

  • Dead in sins
  • Walked in the ways of the world
  • Led by the ruler of the spirit of the disobedient
  • Fleshly desires
  • Children of wrath

But God!

“But God, Who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:4-7

Alive:

  • Alive with Christ
  • Saved by Grace
  • Living With Christ
  • Raised Up
  • Seated us in the Heavens
  • Will display the riches of His grace to us

A floral design featuring white and brown flowers with green leaves frames an inspirational Bible verse: "So, you too consider yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." Romans 6:11. Life applications and lessons are beautifully tied in. The website www.homewithgraceandjoy.com is at the bottom.

“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— not from works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9

  • If we could obtain salvation on our own or somehow earn it, we would run the risk of being proud of this great accomplishment. Since being prideful is a sin, it would negate everything we had “accomplished!” It is not possible for us to do it on our own.
  • If we earned it, it wouldn’t be a gift. Gifts are free!

Stand Out Verses in Ephesians 3

We have access to so many things through Him that we do not take advantage of!

A floral border with soft pink, brown, and cream flowers surrounds a centered quote: "In Him we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him." Ephesians 3:12. This verse serves as a guide for life applications and lessons. At the bottom, the website "www.homewithgraceandjoy.com" is written.

What are we asking Him?

Whatever it is, He is able! Whatever we are stressing about and NOT asking Him for, He is able!

A floral-themed image features a Bible verse from Ephesians 3:20 written in the center, surrounded by soft pastel flowers and leaves. The verse reads, "Now to Him Who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us," highlighting life applications and lessons.
