Life Applications and Lessons in the Book of Ephesians – Part 2 (Vol. 98)

We are continuing on in the book of Ephesians. Let’s take a look at some of the life applications and lessons in this wonderful book of the Bible.

An open Bible lays on a wooden table with the chapter in Ephesians displayed. Next to the Bible, there is a lit candle and a small plant. Text overlaid on the image reads, "Discover Life Applications and Lessons in Ephesians," along with a web address at the bottom.

This book has so many great life applications in it that we will actually spend 3 weeks in Ephesians. His Word is so amazing!

Life Applications and Lessons

“Therefore I, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love, diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds us.” Ephesians 4:1-3

Walk worthy of your calling in:

  • Humility
  • Gentleness
  • Patience
  • Love
  • Unity
  • Peace

This sounds pretty close to the Fruit of the Spirit!

A graphic listing the Fruit of the Spirit, which includes Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. The background features soft pastel illustrations of fruits. Text at the bottom cites Galatians 5:22-23 with Life Applications and Lessons.

“Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.”
Ephesians 4:14

  • Then we won’t be deceived into believing every new thought, idea, or teaching that comes along, but only the truth!
  • With all of the new technology – AI and ways to manipulate and create pictures, it is easy to put something out there and get it to spread or go viral. Don’t believe everything you read or see (news or social media), and be careful what you share.
  • Everyone can make their ideas sound so real and true. Test everything with the Word. That is the only way to know what is Truth.
An open Bible rests on a wooden table. Above it, in a beige box, is a quote: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," 2 Timothy 3:16. For more life applications and lessons, visit www.homewithgraceandjoy.com.

“You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires; you are being renewed in the spirit of your minds;” Ephesians 4:22-23

  • Desires begin in the mind. When people have deceitful desires, they deceive or trick them into believing that these desires are good or of benefit. In the end, they are the opposite – a deadly trap. People can justify almost anything.
  • The scripture says that we “Took Off” the former way of life with the corrupt desires.
  • Not only does new life allow us to take off the former way of life, but it renews the spirit of our minds to a new way of thinking!
  • Remember, desires begin in the mind. When our minds are renewed, our thoughts and desires are renewed!
An inspirational quote on a light pink and white watercolor background reads, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:2. Life applications and lessons emanate from this powerful verse.

“…you put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.” Ephesians 4:24

Just like you “Took Off” the old self, you “Put On” the new self! Replace it.

A quote from 2 Corinthians 5:17 is displayed on a pink and gold marbled background: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" Perfect for Life Applications and Lessons, at the bottom a website URL reads "www.homewithgraceandjoy.com".

Ephesians 4:25-32
