Life Applications and Lessons

“Don’t work only while being watched, in order to please men, but as slaves of Christ, do God’s will from your heart.” Ephesians 6:6

  • Work for others with a good attitude, as if you are working directly for the Lord and not men.
  • We represent Him in our work ethics, attitudes, and personal integrity.
  • A lot can be said about us from the way we act toward our “earthly masters” or bosses.
  • It says to do the Will of God from the heart or with sincerity of heart. I guess that means we need to work with a sincere heart!

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the wiles of the devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.” Ephesians 6:11-12

  • It is so important to stop and think when we have a battle or conflict going on in our life. In reality, the conflict is not with the visible person that seems to be coming against us.
  • We cannot physically see the forces coming against us and causing us harm, but they are there.
  • The schemes of the devil are very sly, and we won’t always recognize them.
  • Since these are spiritual forces, we need spiritual armour and spiritual weapons!
  • Because of God’s grace, we have access to the Heavenly Father and His protection.
  • Put on the FULL armor of God to do battle!

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God;”
Ephesians 6:13-17

The Full or Whole Armor of God:

  • Belt of Truth
  • Breastplate of Righteousness
  • Shoes of the Gospel of Peace
  • Shield of Faith – deflect the flaming darts!
  • Helmet of Salvation
  • Sword of the Spirit (Word of God)

Stand firm and put these on daily to fight those unseen forces – Spiritual warfare is real!

“For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should.” Ephesians 6:20

When I think how bold Paul was in sharing the Gospel, and yet he was asking the church to pray that he would be bold enough to speak as he should, it makes me realize that I should definitely be praying for boldness!

A Bible verse in the center reads: "He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!" - Acts 28:31.
