Easy Monthly Menu Ideas for August

These monthly menu ideas for August are easy and meant to simplify your summer and give you more family time.

Two cups of coffee on saucers, a spoon, two menus labeled “Himalayan Height Resort” featuring the menu for July, and a pair of black binoculars rest on a dark wooden table.

Most of these meal ideas can be prepped or completely made in 30 minutes or less. Enjoy!

What is a Monthly Meal Plan

This monthly meal plan is filled with ideas for quick and easy weeknight meals. Since the planning can be the most challenging part, use this as a guide for ideas.

These are weeknight meals only. I try my best to plan meals where you can “double dip” some of the work. You will notice a few notes about making extra for another meal later in the week. Why do the work twice?

I send weekly menu reminders each Monday morning in my newsletter. I would love for you to join me each week for faith, family, and food ideas. Join below and also receive my favorite quick and easy candy recipes.

Favorite Kitchen Items

I added several meals this month that you can cook in the crock pot. It is just so hot, and the crock pot is too convenient.

If you don’t have one, you can always use an oven or the stove, depending on the meal.

If you are looking to purchase one, I would recommend one with a locking lid. These are so much easier to transport food when you have a potluck or family meal.

A stainless steel Hamilton Beach slow cooker with a digital display showing "160°F." The slow cooker has a clear lid with a black knob and a meat thermometer inserted into the food inside, which appears to be topped with pineapple slices—perfect for your favorite potluck recipes.

The kitchen gadgets below have been a wonderful help to me. They are very simple items, but VERY helpful!

Menu and Meal Planning Tips

  • Print the menu and keep it visible.
  • Keep certain staples on hand (baking items, seasonings, etc.)
  • Buy in bulk when possible.
  • Remember that this is just a guide – use what you want and skip the rest.

I hope some of these meal ideas work for you and your family. They are easy to tweak to meet any special needs.

If you have other quick and easy meals, I would love to hear from you. Please share.

  1. Such a great variety, Susan. I can’t wait to dive into these recipes. I love how easy they are but also how you give yourself a break from cooking on the weekends. We need to do that too! Hugs, CoCo

    1. Since it is just the two of us, we usually have leftovers when the weekend gets here. We like to go out some on the weekends too.
