Sermon Insight
Something really stuck out to me in Jay’s sermon yesterday, and I wanted to share it.

He is preaching through the book of I Peter and preached on I Peter 3:8-12. He talked about when someone hurts us, we want to retaliate. That is human nature, but it is not God’s nature.
The first thing that came to my mind was:
God’s nature is that when we sinned against Him, He sent His Son to die for us!
His nature is love. Let’s strive to be like that.
Family
Weeknights can get a little crazy once school is back in session! Whether you are a student, parent, educator, grandparent, and probably many others, schedules can wreak a little havoc on your mealtimes.
These three meals are super easy to throw together. Hopefully they will help get you through busy nights.

A September Plan

I am hoping you will join me in what I am calling the “Eat at Home Challenge” for September. Here lately I have not stuck to my menu plan that well, which leads to scrambling to find something to cook and eating out more than we would like.
I am putting together a plan to go along with the monthly menu next month. I am trying to include some options for game nights and other activities that come along each week.

Be thinking how many meals a week you want to commit to. I don’t want to set myself up for failure, so I am committing to four a week. I am going to plan for more, but I know unexpected things can come up during the week.
Let me know if you are interested in joining the challenge with me. Maybe we can hold each other accountable and still give ourselves grace.

- Tuesday – Rotel Chicken
- Wednesday – Cilantro Lime Chicken Bowl
- Thursday – Pork Chops
- Friday – Street Tacos
A New Meal Planning Tool
I have been working on a few things to make meal planning easier. Here are a few simple meal planning charts. I added a variety, because I know not everyone likes the same format.
If you already receive my emails, you can still receive the charts. Just go ahead and request them.
I am also working on a list of 120 meal ideas to make deciding on meals a little easier also. That should be coming soon.

- I cannot begin to tell you how comfortable these dresses are from Walmart! I have 3 and am thinking about another color. They are selling out quickly, but the black one is still in my size.
- I hate greasy sunscreen! I have this one for my face that has no greasy feel to it. However, I just got a powder sunscreen to dust on my face or the part in my hair! It is great!!!

Jaws was a blast! I have seen it a million times, but it was different on the big screen. A couple of times we actually jumped!
I don’t know if you saw my post about Shark Week a few weeks ago or not, but I love sharks! Jaws is just one of those wonderful classic movies, and it happens to be about a shark.

It is supposed to be in the theaters for the remainder of this week. If you get a chance, go see it. The shirts were the added cherry on top.
12/6/2025 – If you are local to the Caddo Mills area, I would love to see you on December 6th at the Caddo Mills High School. We are planning to be at their Christmas Vendors’ Fair again this year.

Opinions please!
- Last year at this vendors’ fair, I gave out samples of peanut butter fudge – it was a big hit. Should I do the same thing or change it up a little? If so, what are your ideas?
- I also did a drawing for a Bible gift basket. Please give me your thoughts and ideas on a prize for the drawing this year.

Love that you’re looking for simple game night meals too, Susan. My newphew kicks for his high school football team on Fridays and it feels like such a scramble to finish work and head out of town to his games while making time to find a filling meal. It’s worth the effort but it definitely takes extra time and attention. Love that you guys went all out for Jaws and Shark Week. I swear the little things are the big things! Hugs, CoCo
You are right, it is so worth the effort! Those game times are priceless!
