Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 6
Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.”

This week we took a late summer vacation. After being tied to a school schedule for 53 years (in school and then education), we thought September might be a great time for the beach. The weather is very pleasant, and the crowds are few.
I will report back next week. We are praying the seaweed dies down tomorrow.

Now, let’s take a look at faith, family, and home!
If you click the down arrow in the table of contents, you can click on a topic, and it will automatically scroll down to that section.

A September Plan

I hope you are joining me for the “Eat at Home Challenge” for September. Two things I have noticed already:
- I am not sure after all about the commitment while I am on vacation! I may have to pick it back up when we return home.
- After the 1st week, I can tell you that it is important to have a few “Grab & Go” meals handy for nights that you will not be home. Here are a few ideas:
- Packaged Salads
- Frozen Meals
- Pre-Packaged Meals from the Deli/Costco
- Sandwiches
We survived the volleyball game nights, but it would have been easier, and we would have eaten earlier if I had planned a little better.

How many meals are you committing to? How have you done so far?
What meals have you tried? Do you have quick & easy meals you would like to share?

Quick and Easy Meal Ideas for September
Having a plan for meals is the first step in staying on track. You can use whatever works best for you, but here is a guide if you want some additional ideas.

This Week’s Menu
- Monday – Beef Tips and Noodles
- Tuesday – Rotisserie Chicken
- Wednesday – Tostadas
- Thursday – Salad with Rotisserie Chicken
- Friday – Chili Dogs
A New Meal Planning Tool
I have been working on a few things to make meal planning easier. Here are a few simple meal planning charts. I added a variety, because I know not everyone likes the same format.
If you already receive my emails, you can still receive the charts. Just go ahead and request them.
I am also working on a list of 120 meal ideas to make deciding on meals a little easier also. That should be coming soon.

We will be in Florida this week, so I hope to hear from the Lord on the beach! I think I hear Him better at the beach because I am still and listening.
Special Deal I Just Found Out About!
I am not sure who might need this, but I felt like I had to share it. If you have the need for an email service (or will in the near future), the one I use is about to change their pricing!
Many years ago, I had a different website and a different email service. As the subscribers grew (which is wonderful), so did the price (not so wonderful). When I went back to school to get my Masters, I had to let the email go because of the monthly expenses.
Flodesk is an excellent choice for an email service, and it is the only one I know of that doesn’t go up in price as your subscribers grow. That will be changing at the end of November, unless you are grandfathered in.
If you are interested at all, check out this affiliate link.
You will get 50% off for the first year if you use the code, plus you would be grandfathered in so the price would not increase with the amount of subscribers you had. It is a big deal!
I am still looking for opinions/help!!!
12/6/2025 – We will be at the Christmas Vendors’ Fair again this year.

Opinions please!
- Last year at this vendors’ fair, I gave out samples of peanut butter fudge – it was a big hit. Should I do the same thing or change it up a little? If so, what are your ideas?
- I also did a drawing for a Bible gift basket. Please give me your thoughts and ideas on a prize for the drawing this year.

What a great update. I have to say, beef and noodles is definitely a favorite in our house, along with roast chicken. I hope the seaweed clears up for you, it’s always rough this time of year for the beach lovers. Hubs and I are more pool people, even at the beach, so it doesn’t bother us as much. Hope you have a great rest of your vacation!
Can’t wait to hear all about your beach vacation, Susan, and all the meal planning tools you’ve been putting together have been fabulous too. I feel you on trying to balance the back end of a growing blog with rising costs. I don’t think people realize how truly expensive it can be. Hope you find exactly what you need! Big hugs, CoCo
