Saturday’s Post – When the Tree of Life Comes Full Circle

This devotional was based on my reading in the book of Revelation.

Close-up of a tree trunk and branches with green leaves, sunlight filtering through. Text reads, "When the tree of life comes full circle—tied together by Apron Strings." Website link appears below: www.homewithgraceandjoy.com.

This Month’s Scripture

A wheat field with "Harvest Time," a Bible verse from John 4:35 urging us to look at the fields ready for harvest, and a touch of Apron Strings charm. Website: www.homewithgraceandjoy.com at the bottom.

“Don’t you say, ‘There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest?’ Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest.” John 4:35

A Message from My Quiet Time: The Book of Revelation

I have been reading the book of Revelation these past few days. Just a few basics about the book of Revelation:

  • It was initially written to churches who were being extremely persecuted.
  • This “revelation” is about the end times, so it was an encouragement to the people back then. It is also an encouragement for us as today.
  • The apostle John is the one who penned the revelations as the Lord revealed them to him.
  • Although all of the details are not given as to exactly what will happen in the future, it is very clear Who is in control and Who wins – the Lord!

I usually save the book of Revelation as one of the last books to read because it is a little deep. However, this time was different. Because of some of the things going on in our world (even during the very time of my reading it), I truly enjoyed it. It really came alive for me.

I don’t know why I have never thought about this before.

With John being the one who had the vision given to him, he saw something amazing. Not only did he get a glimpse of what Heaven will be like, he got to see his name there!

“The city wall had twelve foundations, and the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb were on the foundations.” Revelation 21:14

He was one of those apostles! Can you imagine seeing a glimpse of Heaven with your name on the foundation?

Our names may not be one of the twelve on the foundations, but they can be found in the Book of Life!

A beige parchment-style background features the text: "The Lamb’s Book of Life” with a Bible verse from Revelation 21:27 about only those written in the Lamb’s Book of Life entering, followed by Apron Strings and a website URL at the bottom.

I highly encourage you to read this book of prophecy. There is peace in knowing how it all turns out.

Home & Family

I am getting a head start on Christmas this year!

Wednesday’s Post – 110 Simple Things to Do to Get Ready for Christmas

Prepare for Christmas with a minimalist tree made of horizontal sticks in a triangle on a stone wall, adorned with white ornaments and a star. Its base is a vintage scale, flanked by two small potted cacti for a unique festive touch.

A New Recipe Coming Soon

Oh my goodness! I have a new recipe that I will share soon. I don’t even know what to call it yet. Any suggestions?

Two stuffed bell pepper halves topped with melted cheese and salsa are served on a white plate, placed on a dark wooden table next to a fringed beige table runner—perfect for a cozy meal inspired by Apron Strings.

It is like a combination of a stuffed bell pepper, a taco, and rice. It was easy and super DELICIOUS!!!

Quick and Easy Meal Ideas for October

Having a plan for meals is the first step in staying on track. You can use whatever works best for you, but here is a guide if you want some additional ideas.

A collage from Apron Strings shows an "Easy Monthly Menu for October" featuring spaghetti with shrimp, roasted chicken, a stew over rice, vibrant vegetables with yellow rice, and a simmering pot of soup on the stove.

This Week’s Menu

  • Tuesday – Spaghetti

  • Thursday – Chef Salad (with leftover ham)
  • Friday – Sub Sandwiches

Meal Planning Tools

I have been working on a few things to make meal planning easier. Here are a few simple meal planning charts. I added a variety, because I know not everyone likes the same format.

If you already receive my emails, you can still receive the charts. Just go ahead and request them.

I am also working on a list of 120 meal ideas to make deciding on meals a little easier also. That should be coming soon.

    • Think about upcoming birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even daily needs.
    • Make a list this week of things you need now, will need, or any wants.
    • Remind family members to update their Amazon lists and share them with you.
    • Don’t forget everyday items like make-up, toiletries, household supplies, etc…
    • Make sure to add items you have been watching to an Amazon list. There are always things I really like but don’t want to pay the full price for them. During Prime Days, I check my Amazon lists to see if they are on sale – many times they are!
    • Let me know if you are looking for anything specific. I never mind helping find things!
  • Next week is will get to be at the Achieve Conference in Waco! I am really excited, but it will be the first time in 59 years that I will not be with family on my birthday! The conference will be great and very helpful though. I will celebrate with my family when I get back home.

Thank you for sharing. It is always such a balm, in difficult times, to be reminded that the Lord is in charge and will be the victor. We have been feeling this so much, as we are definitely living in the last days! It is always such a blessing to share gospel insights with friends. Thank you friend! xo

  2. Love this series, Susan. I always discover lots of tidbits and nuggets of wisdom from you. I also have the She Reads Truth Bible and I love it! Can’t wait to hear what you think about the pink paper and what you find on Prime Day. I need to make my list soon too! Hugs, CoCo

    1. Thank you Coco! The pink paper is a little too pink, if that is even a thing. I am going to keep looking for the muted pink like I have been using. I am excited about Prime Days too!

  3. You will enjoy this book and it will enlighten you on Revelation as you read. It is a daily study. Judy is a friend and former speaker two times for our ladies’ events at our church.
