Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 11

Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at all things faith, family, and home!

I hope you had a great week and weekend!

I had a wonderful time at the conference I went to last week, but it was the first time in 59 years that I spent my birthday away from my family – 41 away from Jay. Thankfully I have some precious friends that filled in the gaps!

A slice of cheesecake with red topping and a lit candle sits on a plate with "Happy Birthday!" written in chocolate, surrounded by glasses of water on a wooden table at Apron Strings.

After I got home, I was able to celebrate with family.

A group of eleven people sit around a long restaurant table, smiling at the camera. Condiments, drinks, and food from Apron Strings are on the table, creating a casual and friendly atmosphere.

Saturday’s Post – What Do Roosters Have to Do with Anything?

This is based on one of Jay’s sermons last month. I wasn’t sure how he was tying roosters into anything when he got started, but it sure made sense at the end.

Collage with three photos of different roosters in grassy areas, highlighting rooster symbolism and meaning, with text reading, “What Do Roosters Have to Do with Anything?” and “www.homewithgraceandjoy.com” on a beige background.

This Month’s Scripture

A wheat field with "Harvest Time," a Bible verse from John 4:35 urging us to look at the fields ready for harvest, and a touch of Apron Strings charm. Website: www.homewithgraceandjoy.com at the bottom.

“Don’t you say, ‘There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest?’ Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest.” John 4:35

A Message from My Quiet Time

I am reading the book of Numbers right now. You wouldn’t think there would be many lessons for us in that Old Testament book, but there are!

An open Bible lies on a wooden table with green eucalyptus leaves and apron strings gently draped nearby. The left page features decorative script: "The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in faithful love." The right page begins the Book of Numbers.

I am going to share more of this on Saturday. In the meantime, please try to read –

Numbers chapter 13.

There are so many lessons in this one little chapter! My biggest takeaway is living by fear and missing out on blessings.

I will share in more detail Saturday, but I would love to get your feedback and the thoughts that the Holy Spirit puts on your heart.

Quick and Easy Meal Ideas for October

Having a plan for meals is the first step in staying on track. You can use whatever works best for you, but here is a guide if you want some additional ideas.

A collage from Apron Strings shows an "Easy Monthly Menu for October" featuring spaghetti with shrimp, roasted chicken, a stew over rice, vibrant vegetables with yellow rice, and a simmering pot of soup on the stove.

Meal Planning Tools

I have been working on a few things to make meal planning easier. Here are a few simple meal planning charts. I added a variety, because I know not everyone likes the same format.

I am also working on a list of 120 meal ideas to make deciding on meals a little easier also. That should be coming soon.
