Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 14
Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at all things faith, family, and home!

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone remembered to set their clocks back Saturday/Sunday! Changing the clocks is always an adjustment!
Two specific years of clock changes still stand out in my mind.
Confession Time!
Right after we got married, I was going to a bridal shower that Jay’s ex-girlfriend was hosting. I completely forgot to “spring forward,” which made me show up an hour late. It was a little awkward.

The real confession was when I was in high school. We were “falling back an hour,” and I thought I would be clever and use that to my advantage on my curfew. Falling back makes you lose an hour, so I was really late! That did not go over too well! 🙂
I would love to hear other time change stories. Surely I am not the only one.

November’s Scripture

A Message from My Quiet Time
These passages stuck out to me this week. They deal a lot with humility – not only these verses but many of the ones that follow these. Jay’s message Sunday also dealt with being humble.
I guess I better take an inward look! 🙂
“Remember that the Lord your God led you on the entire journey these forty years in the wilderness, so that He might humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands. 3 He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then He gave you manna to eat, which you and your ancestors had not known, so that you might learn that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:2-3
- It is in the hard times that we learn:
- Humility (We can’t do it on our own.)
- Trust/Dependence on the Lord (We see His provision and protection.)
- The hard times draw us closer to Him, because we rely on Him instead of ourselves.
- It is harder to trust the Lord when you think you can handle it on your own. I wonder if subconsciously we think we don’t need Him.
- I guess that is why the verse says:

Christmas Planner

I have been working on a Christmas planner to help with the overwhelm and chaos. I never want another Christmas planned out like 2023! That was the year of DISorganization and chaos!
I hope to be able to share it next week.
Wal-mart Sales
Be watching for Wal-mart sales this month. they have a few special deals coming soon:
- Early Black Friday Sales – November 14-16
- Black Friday Sales – November 25-30
- Cyber Monday – December 1st
If you do not have a Walmart+ account, you might want to test it out during the sales. The first time we tried it, we joined in November and cancelled it in January. It was great for Christmas planning and shopping.
The next year we joined again, but we loved it so much that we are still a part of it. Between Walmart+ and Amazon’s free delivery, I rarely have to go to the store for groceries or gifts!
