Happy Monday!

This week is going to be a full one! Our daughter’s birthday is this week!!🎉 Although I started young, I cannot believe I have a 39 year old child. Happy Birthday Shea!

We got to spend some time with her family this weekend at 6 Flags – I love a good roller coaster! We had such a great time and made new memories.

Whatever you do this week, let’s make a point to make some new memories. Spend time with people and find things to laugh about.

Saturday’s Post – Finding Comfort: Ways to Deal with Grief During the Holidays

Throughout the year, I add families to my prayer list who have lost loved ones. I have several who will be navigating grief through the holidays for the first time this year.

By no means have I mastered this, but I wanted to share a few things that have helped me.

Text on a blurred background of a Christmas tree: "Finding Comfort: Ways to Deal with Grief During the Holidays. Discover how Christian songs can help lift your spirit. www.homewithgraceandjoy.com.

I would love to hear from you:

  • Please let me know if I can pray for you in this area. You may already be on my prayer list, but I would still love to hear from you.
  • If you have found other ways to help get through grief during the holidays, please share.

November’s Scripture

Thanksgiving-themed image with a quote: "Let’s enter His presence with thanksgiving; let’s shout triumphantly to Him in song." Psalm 95:2. Below the text, decorative pumpkins and leaves evoke the essence of Christian songs celebrating gratitude.

A Message from My Quiet Time

I am still reading in Deuteronomy. Although I don’t get as many nuggets from this book, there are still plenty of lessons for us. Here is one example from this week:

“When you go out to war against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and an army larger than yours, do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you.” Deuteronomy 20:1

  • Don’t let negative circumstances or the appearance of things scare you or make you think you can’t do something the Lord has called you to do.
  • If He calls you to it, He will go with you.
  • If the Lord is with you, you have all you need.

Meal Planning Tools

I have been working on a few things to make meal planning easier. Here are a few simple meal planning charts. I added a variety, because I know not everyone likes the same format.

I am also working on a list of 120 meal ideas to make deciding on meals a little easier also. That should be coming soon.

Favorite Deals of the Week

I feel like I am always sharing about the Bible I use, so much so that I wonder if you get sick of hearing about it. Last week someone asked me where to find it. Instead of just pulling up the link, I started looking at posts. I was sure I had shared it so many times, but I had all kinds of trouble finding it.

To be sure everyone can find it, especially during gift giving season, I am sharing the link to it and other Bible study resources that I love.

A collage of Bible study resources, including pastel pens, pink and floral notebooks, a devotional book, sticky notes, a map-themed notebook, a pink journal, and an Apron Strings-themed white wireless charger on a green patterned background. Text: “Bible Study Resources.”.

Amazon

Walmart

  • If you have been trying to get one of these Christmas trees, they are back in stock! They look and feel real, and they have the neatest twinkles.
  • These Christmas Tree Cake candles are also back this year and for the original price! After they sold out last year, you could find a few, but the price was outrageous!

Candy Recipe for the Month – Homemade Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars

We love these! They have been a favorite for years!

Christmas Planner

A glittery gold star ornament hangs on a garland of pine branches with white lights. Text below reads, "The Home with Grace and Joy Christmas Planner" by Susan Sikes at Apron Strings, with a website link.

I have been working on a Christmas planner to help with the overwhelm and chaos. I never want another Christmas planned out like 2023! That was the year of DISorganization and chaos!

I hope to be able to share it next week.

Wal-mart Sales

Be watching for Wal-mart sales this month. they have a few special deals coming soon:

  • Early Black Friday Sales – November 14-16
  • Black Friday Sales – November 25-30
  • Cyber Monday – December 1st

If you do not have a Walmart+ account, you might want to test it out during the sales. The first time we tried it, we joined in November and cancelled it in January. It was great for Christmas planning and shopping.

The next year we joined again, but we loved it so much that we are still a part of it. Between Walmart+ and Amazon’s free delivery, I rarely have to go to the store for groceries or gifts!

Tip: You can start “Lists” in the Walmart app like you do for Amazon. Another way to watch for items to go on sale is to:

  • Find items you are wanting to purchase
  • Add them to your cart
  • Immediately click “Save for Later”

Every time you go to the app, your “Save for Later” items are at the bottom of your cart. You can watch for sales and add them back to your cart without having to search for them.

YouTube

I have started to post a video clips on YouTube. You can follow me here. For now, all of the clips are nature or animal (which is nature) 🙂 based with a scripture to go along with it. Here are a few examples:

  1. Happy Birthday Shea! I hope you had a great time celebrating together. It was so much fun to find out that you like roller coasters. Thank you for all these links and for passing along your nuggets of wisdom. I definitely needed that scripture this week as we had two big kinks thrown in our holiday plans last week and trying to navigate it has been tricky. Love the She Reads Truth Bible and all your recs too. They’re all so good! Hugs, CoCo

    1. I am glad that scripture helped. It is neat how He always knows what to send! Yes, I love roller coasters! I am not much for spinning rides, but roller coasters are a blast!
