Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 24
Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at all things faith, family, and home!

Happy Monday!
Did you know that last Friday was National Quitters’ Day? 🙂 How have I never heard of this?
Apparently, that is the day that most people give up on their New Year’s Resolutions. I am no quitter – I just never made any resolutions. I do have a few goals though. Since I need a little accountability, I am going to share a few here (Jay will read this)!
- Declutter the house by donating things.
- Start walking at least 3 days a week. I know that is not much, but it is more than none.
- Finish Evelyn’s Bible and start one just for me. (3 books to go)
- Do a webinar to share how to make the Bibles for loved ones.
I am in the midst of trying to declutter. I am not having that much luck, but I did get my she shed back in order. Now it just needs a deep cleaning.
Do you have goals for this year? How are you doing with them?
Whatever you are doing, I hope you have a great week!

Saturday Morning Devotional
Saturday’s Post – Eternal Gifts for the Ones We Love
I recently updated (and added to) this blogpost, and it is very close to my heart. This post shares ideas for giving eternal gifts to the ones we love.
This post also connects directly to something new I’m preparing: a free upcoming webinar where I’ll teach how to read through the Bible, take personal notes, and turn that journey into a meaningful gift for future generations.
If leaving a spiritual legacy is something you have been thinking about, I hope you’ll read the post and stay tuned. More details will be coming soon.

YouTube Scriptures
I have started to post video clips on YouTube. You can follow me here. For now, all of the clips (8-10 seconds) are of nature or animals (which are nature) 🙂 based with a scripture to go along with it.

Cooking Tip (From My Sister)

I was talking to my sister this week about different recipes, and she mentioned something you probably already do, but it was new to me.
Anytime she wants to make a dish more creamy, she adds cream cheese. The size of her dish depends on the amount of cream cheese she adds.
I now have 2 blocks of cream cheese on my Walmart order! I may add some of the spreadable cream cheese in the carton as well – even easier to add a couple of scoops here and there!
Am I just behind? Did you already know about this?
Where are My Fellow Coffee Drinkers?

Does anyone know what all the hype is about putting butter in your coffee? I had a 2nd cup on Saturday and tried it, but I couldn’t really tell a difference.
It could be that the spray whipped cream I put on top of it works in the same way, so I didn’t notice.
Anyway, I would love to hear from anyone who drinks their coffee this way.

January’s Monthly Menu
Quick and Easy Meal Ideas for January
Let’s start the year off by having our meals planned. Things tend to run much smoother that way.

This Week’s Menu – Easy Week!
- Monday – Chicken & Dumplings
- Tuesday – Pan Fried Tilapia
- Wednesday – Spanish Chicken & Rice
- Thursday – Baked Potato Bar
- Friday – Soft Tacos
On a side note, if you wanted to switch Thursday’s and Friday’s meal ideas, you could make make extra taco meat on Thursday and use it as a topping for the baked potato bar on Friday.

“How sweet Your Word is to my taste – sweeter than honey in my mouth.”
Psalm 119:103

I did know about the cream cheese. One recipe called for it before so I just experimented with it on other things and it turned out nice and creamy.
I wish I would have known about it earlier!
Excited about your Bible webinar, Susan! I also have the She Reads Truth Bible and it’s amazing. I love that it is comprehensive yet easy to understand. I grew up with the KJV and gah it was like reading Shakespeare sometimes. Can’t wait to try the cream cheese trick especially on the littles mac n cheese. Big hugs, CoCo
I know what you mean – I grew up with the KJV also. It sounds so beautiful, but even reading it out loud can trip you up.
