Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 25

Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at all things faith, family, and home!

Happy Chilly Monday!

This is probably not the most popular opinion, but I actually like cold weather. I don’t necessarily like being out in it, but having a reason to stay in the house is great with me!

I am slowly but surely going through things and trying to declutter – little by little. It is funny though – I am also still planning to go to estate sales and thrift stores. I figure it will be okay because I will definitely donate much more than I purchase.

I am still working on the upcoming webinar to share what I have learned about taking notes in Bibles and making them personalized for my grandchildren. It really is a fun project. I hope you will join me this February. The date and time will be announced soon. Please let me know if you are interested.

Saturday Morning Devotional

Saturday’s Post – How to Choose a Bible for Personal Bible Study (or for a Gift)

An open Bible lies on a soft beige sweater with leaves and branches nearby. Text below reads, "How to Choose the Right Bible for Personal Bible Study"—perfect inspiration for your next Bible Study at www.homewithgraceandjoy.com.

I also shared this one from the archives – Friends and Pound Cake: A Great Combination

Two vintage-style illustrations of women enjoying friends and pound cake with tea, featuring the text “Friends and Pound Cake - A Great Combination” and a website link at the bottom: www.homewithgraceandjoy.com.

January’s Scripture

A quote reads, "'In everything he did, he had great success, because the Lord was with him.' I Samuel 18:14" on a background of a cloudy sky with a white bird illustration. Embrace this scripture for success in the new year. The website "Homewithgraceandjoy.com" is at the bottom.

YouTube Scriptures

I have started to post video clips on YouTube. You can follow me here. For now, all of the clips (8-10 seconds) are of nature or animals (which are nature) 🙂 based with a scripture to go along with it.

See the latest video here.

I also wanted to share another YouTube channel. It is called Gospel Blues Escape. If you like bluesy music and a good Christian message, check this out. It is so smooth that you can have it playing in the background of your day.

Home & Family

An Inexpensive Delicious Meal

Collage showing black-eyed peas soup: a close-up of a spoonful, a bowl with cornbread, and a pot simmering on the stove. Text reads “Simple Black-Eyed Peas from Dried Peas,” highlighting this beloved Southern staple.

January’s Monthly Menu

Quick and Easy Meal Ideas for January

Let’s start the year off by having our meals planned. Things tend to run much smoother that way.

Links and Finds

A square image with text disclosing affiliate links—clicking may earn a small commission at no extra charge. Only favorite new finds for busy seasons of life or personally used products are ever recommended.
  • I just got these magnetic scrabble pieces in for an upcoming cruise!
  • Have you ever used divided bowls? They are a game-changer! My mom found ours years ago through one of the old ABC catalogs. I have searched online, but cannot find it. If you have information on this, please share. The divided bowls were more inexpensive through that magazine.
  • I have shared these disposable take-home containers many times, and I do love them. However, if you have a Sam’s Club membership, I saw 125 heavy-duty ones for $17.98 – Great deal!

The Top Links People Ask For

I feel like I share these links all of the time. However, when people have asked me for them, I have had a hard time finding them in a post or newsletter.

A collage features a floral Eiffel Tower mug on a warmer, a woman in an olive green loungewear set holding coffee, and a beige devotional book with a rose gold notebook on the table. Text: "Most Asked for Links." Cozy moments tied together like apron strings.

Events

So many people ask me about the Bibles I am making for my grandchildren for their graduation, so I thought I would pull together a little webinar to show how to do them. This would be a free online event, either by Zoom or social media.

An open Bible with handwritten notes on life applications in the margins sits on a wooden table, decorated with greenery, gold candlesticks, and a pink ornament labeled “Joy.”.

Be looking for more information to come.

I would love to see how many people are interested in joining me for this. If you would be interested, please let me know either by commenting below or emailing me at susan@homewithgraceandjoy.com.

I hope you will grab a Bible and join me.
