Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 28

Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at all things faith, family, and home!

Happy Monday!

What a busy but great weekend! We moved a refrigerator to our daughter’s house and got to see the MANY new little lambs. They were running and jumping everywhere!

My daughter and her family are having to raise one of the little lambs indoors, because the mother rejected her. “Clementine” is adorable!

A smiling woman with glasses stands outdoors on a sunny day, holding a white baby goat in her arms. Trees and a building are visible in the background, as her cheerful spirit shines through like apron strings binding cherished moments.

It sounds like having another infant though. They have to bottle feed her every 3 hours, and she wears a little lamb diaper. They are her life line.

This whole situation reminds me so much of Psalms 23!

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You art with me; Your rod and Your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalm 23:1-6

What a blessing to have the Lord, the Great Shepherd, take care of us – He is literally our life line!

Saturday Morning Devotional

Saturday’s Post – 10 Bible Verses about Love (Printable Scriptures for Your Home)

A framed Bible verse about love sits on a table with a lit candle, greenery, a vintage book, and white gloves, against a pink quilt backdrop. Display inspiring Bible Verses about Love—perfect printable scriptures for framing.

You may have an easier way of printing these, but if not, I included instructions.

February’s Scripture

Floral background with pink and white flowers. Centered text reads: "We love because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19 (CSB), one of the inspiring Bible Verses about Love.

YouTube Scriptures

I have started to post video clips on YouTube. You can follow me here. For now, all of the clips (8-10 seconds) are of nature or animals (which are nature) 🙂 based with a scripture to go along with it.

Home Tip – A New Appetizer

I have had a recipe from another blogger saved in my Safari for several weeks. I was waiting until this past weekend to make it, and we were not disappointed!

Golden-brown crescent rolls wrapped around small sausages, freshly baked and closely packed together in a pan—just like a treat made with love and apron strings in a cozy kitchen.

These are not your regular Pigs in a Blanket! They are Buffalo Pigs in a Blanket, and they are delicious!

I am not really a “Buffalo” type person, but I gave them a try anyway. There is butter mixed into the Buffalo sauce, and you know that butter makes everything better!

If you want to give them a try, you can see, The Kitchen is My Playground’s post for “Buffalo Pigs in a Blanket” here.

All Quick & Easy Meals

This is one of the quickest and tastiest appetizers!

Cilantro Delight

The Super Bowl is over, but just in case you need an idea for an appetizer, these are some of my favorites!

Collage of easy appetizers including pasta salad, shrimp cocktail, black bean salsa, and cheesy bites. Text reads "Favorite Game Day Appetizers" with the website "homewithgraceandjoy.com" displayed.

I have to share my latest thrift store find. You can see the Tex-Mex Shrimp Cocktail in the picture above, served in an individual margarita glass. The other day I was thrifting a little and found a huge one. What better way to serve to a crowd?

A margarita glass filled with chunky Tex Mex shrimp cocktail sits on a wooden table next to a cream-colored textured table runner in a sunlit room, where rustic decor and Apron Strings charm the inviting atmosphere.

You really can’t see how large it is from the picture, but that is a pound of shrimp plus all of the extras to make the shrimp cocktail. There were only four of us, so I didn’t want to waste another pound of shrimp just to fill it up. Maybe next time.

February’s Monthly Menu

The Top Links People Ask For

I feel like I share these links all of the time. However, when people have asked me for them, I have had a hard time finding them in a post or newsletter.

A collage features a floral Eiffel Tower mug on a warmer, a woman in an olive green loungewear set holding coffee, and a beige devotional book with a rose gold notebook on the table. Text: "Most Asked for Links." Cozy moments tied together like apron strings.

Events

So many people ask me about the Bibles I am making for my grandchildren for their graduation, so I thought I would pull together a little webinar to show how to do them. This would be a free online event, either by Zoom or social media.

An open Bible with handwritten notes on life applications in the margins sits on a wooden table, decorated with greenery, gold candlesticks, and a pink ornament labeled “Joy.”.

I am still working on the upcoming webinar to share what I have learned about taking notes in Bibles and making them personalized for my grandchildren. It really is a fun project. I hope you will join me this February. The date and time will be announced soon. Please let me know if you are interested.

I would love to see how many people are interested in joining me for this. If you would be interested, please let me know either by commenting below or emailing me at susan@homewithgraceandjoy.com.
