Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 35

Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at a few things faith, family, and home!

Happy Monday!

I hope your weekend was a good one.

Here are a few things happening in my world:

  • I am loving Estate Sale Season! There have been some pretty good ones lately. I didn’t get to make it to the big one this weekend though. 🙁
  • We went to see Jay’s mom this weekend and saw the cutest thing for people in a care facility! You can see it below in the “Favorite Things from the Web” section.
  • My dishwasher went out on me! It was only about 5 years old, so it was very disappointing until the repair guy told us that the brand we had usually only lasted 12 – 18 months! Needless to say, the one being delivered this week is not the same brand.
  • We are preparing for Easter this week:
    • Reading the Holy Week events in the Bible
    • Preparing for Easter lunch with the family
    • Getting ready for church

Whatever you have going this week, I pray you have a great one. Let me know if I can pray for you specifically in any way.

Saturday’s Post – 10 Free Easter Printables with Worship Lyrics and Scripture

A group of sheep grazes on grass covered with dry leaves. Overlaid text reads: "10 Easter Printables with Christian Songs and Worship Lyrics (Wall Art)." The website URL, homewithgraceandjoy.com, appears at the bottom.

April’s Scripture

Text on a rain-soaked window reads: "Showers of Blessings: 'May He come down like rain upon the mown grass, like showers that water the earth.' Psalm 72:6." Experience grace and joy at www.homewithgraceandjoy.com.

YouTube Scriptures

This is one of my all time favorite verses!

Close-up of green grass with small wildflowers in focus, as the sun sets in the background, casting a golden light and long shadows—an atmosphere reminiscent of peaceful Easter songs. Soft lens flare and blurry trees and power lines complete the scene.

Easter Menu Ideas

I don’t know about you, but our holiday menus don’t change very much from year to year. We know what we like.

This is an older post with Easter menu ideas, but I added quite a few new ideas and recipe links to it.

A family gathers around a festive table set with Easter menu favorites like ham, eggs, and desserts. Two kids in bunny ear headbands join as an elderly couple serves the meal. The spring-themed room reads, "Easter Menu Ideas for the Whole Family.

Quick and Easy Meal Ideas for April

Collage featuring three meal photos: a bowl of salad with greens, a bowl of pasta, and a plate with salmon, yellow rice, and green beans. Text reads "April's Monthly Menu Ideas" and a website link.

Favorite Things on the Web This Week

The first links come with an explanation. We were visiting Jay’s mom who is in a nursing home, and I kept hearing a cat meowing. One of the residents stopped by to greet us, and she had an animated cat.

At first glance, the cat looked real. She let us know that it was not real, just realistic. We noticed that everyone around knew that she carried that little cat around with her most of the time.

Jay’s mother fell in love with it, so look what we found on Amazon! Once you open the link, you will see lots of other options.

A plush golden retriever toy with soft tan fur, black nose, and brown eyes, wearing a red bandana with a paisley pattern tied like apron strings around its neck, sitting upright.
A realistic-looking plush cat toy with long, fluffy gray and white fur, blue eyes, and pink paw pads, lies down with its tail stretched out behind it—reminiscent of a kitten curled up at your apron strings on a quiet afternoon.

The Top Links People Ask For

I feel like I share these links all of the time. However, when people have asked me for them, I have had a hard time finding them in a post or newsletter.

A collage features a floral Eiffel Tower mug on a warmer, a woman in an olive green loungewear set holding coffee, and a beige devotional book with a rose gold notebook on the table. Text: "Most Asked for Links." Cozy moments tied together like apron strings.

  1. I love these posts, Susan. It’s always fun to see what you’ve been up to from week to week. My Mom volunteers at an ALF, and one of her ladies is nonverbal and would lose it in the best possible way over the little cat. So, I’m excited to send this to her. She will be tickled pink. I love that your holiday menu doesn’t change from year to year. There’s definitely something about not reinventing the wheel every holiday that makes my heart sing. Can’t wait to dive into these links. Sending you hugs for a blessed Holy Week, CoCo
