Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 43

Happy Monday and thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at a few things faith, family, and home!

Knowing the meaning behind today’s holiday, Memorial Day, it doesn’t seem appropriate to say, “Happy Memorial Day.” However, the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we now have would want us to appreciate them.

So whatever you do today to celebrate Memorial Day, enjoy it as well as all the freedoms we have in this country. However, remember the men and women who laid down their lives to give us those freedoms and the reason we celebrate.

Saturday’s Post – A Love for Ol’ Glory: Patriotism, Faith, and Country

This is a post that Jay wrote a few years ago. It has been updated.

An American flag waves on a tall flagpole against a cloudy sky, celebrating Ol' Glory. The words "A Love for Ol' Glory" and a website link appear at the bottom, with trees and power lines in the foreground.

May’s Scripture

A quote from Colossians 3:2 is displayed in white text on a beige background adorned with delicate flowers. It reads, "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." Subtle, abstract shapes enhance the background. A nod to Philippians 4 and the URL "www.homewithgraceandjoy.com" are at the bottom.

Latest Post – Easy Vacation Meal Ideas

We still eat out plenty while we are on vacation, but it sure helps to fill in with a few of these easy meals on occasion!

A collage with the text "Easy Vacation Meals" features a casserole, a loaded baked potato with toppings, and a tray of seasoned potatoes and chicken—all set against a beach backdrop with seashells and palm trees, perfect for planning your next vacation meals.

A Red, White, and Blue Dessert

This red, white, and blue trifle is one of my favorite desserts!

A glass bowl filled with the creamiest red, white and blue berry trifle dessert made of strawberries, blueberries, and a creamy layer. The strawberries are at the bottom, topped with a thick layer of cream or custard, and blueberries are sprinkled on top. The bowl sits on a wooden table with a fringed placemat.

I have made it with the homemade Cold Oven Pound Cake before, but I usually just buy a store-bought pound cake for this dessert.

Read this one if you are planning on going to the beach any time soon.

Four clear Christmas ornaments filled with seashells and tied with twine are arranged on a dark surface. Perfect for remembering your beach vacation, the text reads "Beach Ornaments," "Gulf Shores - 2025," and the website address.

Favorite Items of the Week

I am really excited about my newest Moka Pot! The other is small enough just for me to use, but Jay really likes the Moka Pot coffee now too. We kept running out of coffee. 🙂 Look at the cute large one I got this weekend!

I love it! If you happen to be looking for one, the pink one comes in several colors, and it is very inexpensive – good quality though. Here is a link to the one I got.

I have been searching for my wedding book for some time now, and have not had luck in finding it! However, I found this jewel in the search. I need to get with my mom and see if she remembers which one of her parents I got this from. I am looking for the perfect spot for it – it will no longer be stuffed in a drawer.

The Top Amazon Links

I feel like I share these links all of the time. However, when people have asked me for them, I have had a hard time finding them in a post or newsletter.

A collage features a floral Eiffel Tower mug on a warmer, a woman in an olive green loungewear set holding coffee, and a beige devotional book with a rose gold notebook on the table. Text: "Most Asked for Links." Cozy moments tied together like apron strings.

You can see my favorite items that are on sale, with a few others at my Amazon storefront. See the link below to check them out.

This is interesting – my Amazon storefront shows in real time the trending picks from all of you! The outfit is one of them, but I am surprised by the last one.
