Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 50

Happy Heatwave Monday and thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at a few things faith, family, and home!

How is your summer going? Are you staying indoors or braving the heat?

Besides the beach and walking out to my she shed, I have pretty much stayed indoors. Evelyn was with us this week, so we were in the pool more than usual. From that came a great idea!

Evelyn has a great imagination, and one of the things we did this week in the pool was pretend that she was my fitness instructor, and she was getting me in shape. I have been wanting to get a little more exercise, but it is too hot and humid to do anything, even early in the morning.

My new morning routine will be:

  • Quiet Time
  • Workout in the Pool
  • Shower
  • Work

I don’t know why this has never crossed my mind! You can get quite a workout and stay cool in a pool. Updates to follow!

We also went to a movie, which is pretty rare for us these days. However, we have a new movie/game place in the area that is very nice!

Gamescape by Cinemark entrance with a large illuminated sign above a modern counter. Arcade games with colorful lights are visible to the left, adding a vibrant energy reminiscent of childhood memories and carefree days spent at apron strings. A staff member stands behind the counter. The area has wooden floors and high ceilings.

If you happen to be looking for a good movie, go see, Young Washington! It was great! Evelyn had just had us watching Washington on Netflix (twice actually). 🙂 This movie gave a few more details. I highly recommend it.

YouTube Scriptures

This is one of my favorite Scriptures!

A vivid sunset with orange and yellow clouds lights up the sky over a suburban neighborhood, silhouetting trees, houses, and a lamppost near a small pond, as if dusk tugs at the apron strings of day before letting night fall.

A garden tub filled with soapy water and bubbles, a wooden bath tray holding a book and soap, and a white towel on the tub’s edge. Text reads: “How to Clean Garden Tub Jets. Get Rid of the Black Gunk!”.

  1. The heat is bananas, Susan! I’m thankful you have your pool (and a cute pie instructor) to keep you reaching your exercise goals. I’ve been working out on my rebounder in the mornings and walking just after dinner, but goodness, I miss my early morning prayer walks. There’s just something about waking up with the sunrise and watching all the birds travel to the water to find fish that makes my heart so happy. Hugs, CoCo PS: Loved Young Washington too – did you see the ad for the Drummer Boy? It looks good too!
