What a blessing this weekend was! We got to celebrate my dad’s 86th birthday!

As the celebration was coming to an end, we got RAIN! It was such a nice surprise. I’m praying for more this week, but it doesn’t look like it is in the forecast.

Saturday’s Post – How to Stay Consistent in Your Bible Reading (Even When Life is Busy)

This post came about after I sent out a survey. I asked what the biggest struggle was with Bible reading, and consistency was the answer at 56%.

These are a few tips and ideas that have helped me.

August’s Scripture

As a new school year begins, I thought this verse was appropriate for everyone going back to school – all of the kids and educators. I will be praying for all of you this year!

Little House on the Prairie Update

We finished the series – it is only 6 episodes. It was so good!

It has inspired me to get out my Little House books and reread them. I haven’t read any of them since I was a child! We have a cruise coming up next month, so I will probably pack at least one of them.

  • I wish I would have had this candy thermometer when I kept trying to make those pralines with no success. It should be much easier now!
  • Here is something I NEVER thought I’d need. Since our backyard is about 1/2 an acre or more, we’ve never had to worry about picking up dog poop – until now. 🙂 Ally always goes to the back of the yard for a little privacy, but Gizmo tends to leave a lot of gifts right by the door or in the walkways. We just got this pooper scooper, and Jay put it to use.

Walmart

  • This comforter comes in so many colors and is very light-weight.
  • I don’t know why I hadn’t thought about getting a little stick vacuum before. It has really helped me keep dog hair out of the house much easier than dragging out the big vacuum.

  1. Hope your Dad had such a happy birthday celebration! It’s such a privilege to grow old and to be surrounded by such a loving family. I love that you guys still have the cake and the candles and the works! Piper sheds all over, so a stick vac has been a total game changer. Same with the pooper scooper. I never thought we’d need one, but here we are…it’s so much safer for them from a hygiene perspective too. Hugs, CoCo
