Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 59
Happy Monday! Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at a few things faith, family, and home!

I hope you had a great weekend. We got to spend ours watching Caddie play volleyball, spending a little time in the pool, having a Saturday morning breakfast out, a farmer’s market, and a great special event at church.
I would love to share a little about the last three, just in case you are in the area.
- Luke’s in downtown Greenville, Texas has wonderful (fresh) food with very reasonable prices. If you are in the area, give them a try.
- Our daughter and her family (Double C Ranch) have a booth each Saturday at the Greenville Farmers’ Market. She makes different tinctures, tallows, syrups, and more. This week we also got some homemade chocolate syrup.
- Our special speaker and music this week at church was Joe Knight with Knight Song Ministries. He has been in ministry since he was young, but his ministry shifted a little when they lost their son Matt. Although their ministry is somewhat around grief, it is an encouraging and uplifting grief ministry.

Bible Trivia Question
Question: How were the children of Israel guided in their forty years of wandering in the wilderness?
Find the answer at the end of the post. A clue can also be found in this post for graduates.
Saturday Morning Devotional
Saturday’s Post – Life Lessons from Acts 4:13-20
This one was pretty convicting for me.

September’s Scripture
I’m ready for the autumn rains! 🙂

YouTube Scriptures
We experienced this one over the weekend.

Home & Family
Jay’s Latest Concoction
This is not going to sound right, but it was pretty good – English muffins and gravy.
Instead of waiting on biscuits to cook, Jay just toasted some English muffins and made gravy.

We both still prefer biscuits with gravy, but if you don’t have biscuits, these are a great alternative.
Song Lyrics
We were at a restaurant recently that had live music, and the performer sang a song that grabbed me! I have heard it before, but it was a long time ago.
I don’t know how many times I have pictured myself visiting my childhood home. ❤️ If you get a chance, listen to it. The lyrics are beautiful!
This Week’s Post – Creamy Tortellini Soup
I made a few adjustments to this one, and now I want to add one more. The next time I make this, I am going to add at least one of my frozen tomatoes to the pot. They always give everything a fresher flavor.

Favorite Items of the Week

If you have been with me here for the last two years, you have probably seen me talk about my favorite little Christmas tree.

Last year I bought my mother-in-law one, and the basket was just a little different, but still beautiful! They just came out with this year’s tree, and it is adorable!

These sell out QUICKLY every year! Click the link here to see this adorable tree!
I absolutely love my new meat masher in wood!
I have several other favorite things that you can see in my Amazon storefront. See the link below.
Interesting Sites I Found Last Week
Enjoy exploring these.
- I thought these Cinnamon Roll Bites sounded delicious and easy!
- Who doesn’t like King Ranch Chicken? This one is great for feeding a crowd, so I am thinking about this week’s potluck.
I have one more to share, and it is a good one!!! If you have ever wanted to go back to your childhood and visit your grandmother, this is for you. Kate with Southern Home & Hospitality wrote about “Things Every Southern Grandma Had in Her House.”
It brought back so many great memories! In fact, I am bookmarking this one!
Christmas Corner
I was talking to my daughter the other day, and she mentioned purchasing her first Christmas gift. It is so much easier (time wise, stress wise, and money wise) if you buy a little at a time, especially when you come across something you know someone would love.

It is also a great time to think about homemade items. I bought these jars last year, and I am going to do something with them soon. (Basil Salt and Apple Butter.) I am open for other suggestions – easy ideas only please! 🙂
I’m sharing my Christmas planner that really helped me get organized last year. I was a little late finishing it then, so I am looking forward to reprinting some of the pages and putting it fully to use this year! $7 to calm the chaos!😂

Excited to dive into these recipes, Susan, and to see how you use your Ball jars this year. I’m totally with your daughter. Shopping early for all the holidays makes the season so much more enjoyable – it really does help take the pressure off! Hugs, CoCo
I just started purchasing this week. I am really trying to get it all done early this year!
