Apron Strings & Blessings Weekly Newsletter Vol. 61
Happy Monday! Thanks for joining me for this week’s, “Apron Strings & Blessings.” Let’s take a look at a few things faith, family, and home!

This week was a little different for us, since we were just getting back Saturday. There was no way Jay could be ready to preach on Sunday, so he took a vacation day.
We actually went to church as congregants. We heard an amazing message of truth and got a little goody bag (with a very nice coffee cup) for being first time guests.
I hope you had a great worship experience also, and we all put the truths we learned into practice.

Our Activities Today
Today the two older granddaughters are showing chickens at the State Fair of Texas, so that is where we will be.

I thought it would be fun to share a few related posts below:
- Things to Do at the State Fair of Texas (This is a couple of years old, but most of the things remain.)
- Lessons from the Little Red Hen (These pictures are taken from some of the girls’ chickens.)

- What Do Roosters Have to do with Anything? This is a devotional about Peter.

(Again, the pictures came from the girls’ roosters. Craig is my favorite one – in the top left.)

Jay’s Weekly Tip
You may already know about this, but I had never thought about it.

We went to eat breakfast a few weeks ago, and I saw Jay poking holes in his pancake with his fork before pouring the syrup onto it.
That makes perfect sense – It is exactly what you do to cakes and frostings!

Such an easy way to serve a lot of people and still have time to enjoy them!

Favorite Items of the Week

- These were a huge hit on the cruise! People even stopped to have conversations while they found words.

- I found a new use for these that helped save my sanity. You don’t have to be on a cruise to use them either. I will write more about it this week.
- If you are looking for a good historical fiction to read, I have one. I haven’t finished it, but I have had a hard time putting it down. Check out The Room on Rue Amelie!

I have several other favorite things that you can see in my Amazon storefront. See the link below.
Interesting Sites I Found Last Week
Enjoy exploring these.
- Have you ever heard of buttermilk syrup? I have not, but I am going to try it.
- I am also going to try Heidi’s Apple Butter in the Crock Pot! These would make great Christmas gifts.

Christmas Corner
It is never too early for Christmas pajamas, especially if they are Dolly Parton Christmas pajamas! My sister got these for me last year for my birthday. ❤️

It is totally okay to wear Christmas pajamas as long as they are comfortable! If you are looking for some, these came from Buc-ee’s.

And speaking of Christmas and Dolly – a friend of mine (Emily) sent me this coffee cup a few years ago as a surprise. I use it all year round. I have looked for them to share, but they must be discontinued.

*** It is time to talk to your family about updating their Amazon lists! Next week, October 6th and 7th, Amazon is having one of their big sales. It is the perfect time to find Christmas gifts at lower prices.
I’m sharing my Christmas planner that really helped me get organized last year. I was a little late finishing it then, so I am looking forward to reprinting some of the pages and putting it fully to use this year! $7 to calm the chaos!😂

Have you started planning yet? If not, what helps you the most?
