The Light Always Reveals

Confession – I have a really bad habit of doing my make-up in the car, and it drives Jay absolutely crazy! I have determined a million times that I am not going to do it, but when I am running late, I put it on before I walk into wherever I am going. Sometimes I can get by without anyone knowing, but if it is sunny, I am busted! The light always reveals!

.

It is hard to believe that these pictures were taken within a few days of each other. Even the temperature difference seems unbelievable, but this is Texas. Notice how you do not see the dust from my make-up in the first picture. When the sun came out a day or two later, you could definitely see it. The light revealed the dust.

The Bible talks about this very thing:

.

“Everything exposed by the light is made clear.” Ephesians 5:13

.

“For everyone who practices wicked things hates the light and avoids it, so that their deeds may not be exposed.” John 3:20

.

Christ is the Light of the world. When we allow Him to be our standard for righteousness, His light reveals the areas we need to change in our lives. Only surrendering to Him and His ways can keep us on the right track. The verse in John continues:

.

“But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.” John 3:21

.

My New Year’s resolution is not to do my make-up in the car, and I have done well. Jay just had the car cleaned recently. On overcast or sunny days, the dashboard looks the same. I know that if the make-up comes out, it will always be revealed by the light.

I wonder how many of you know this version of “I Saw the Light” by David Crowder. It is a good one!

As we go through life, let us live it for the Lord. May we walk in the Light, and remember that the the Light always reveals.

Love this post and the version of that song from DCB too. I listen to it all the time! It’s amazing what we no longer see becuase we’ve lived with it for so long. I eel that way about everything from dust bunnies to piles of random items that need a home. Here’s to make better choices this year. Not just for ourselves but for those around us, CoCo

This is such a good thought and analogy! I found your blog on the Inspire Me Monday link-up. I’m thankful the Lord led me here this morning. May He bless you and yours in this new year!

Hello!

Hello!

Welcome! I believe homes and families should be filled with grace and joy! As I think about my life, I can see how my grandmother and my mom poured these beliefs into our home. How fitting that my grandmother's name was Grace and my mother's name is Joy. I hope to share the impact "Grace and Joy" have made on my life and in my home!
