Life Applications from the Bible – Vol. 40

I love the way the Lord speaks to us and shares life applications through His Word. I had to share this picture of the Bible I am reading and taking notes in for Evelyn. The Lord really makes It come alive! I will share the testimony about this page in the first bullet.

Life Applications

  • Matt. 19:14 “Jesus said, ‘Leave the little children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to Me, because the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.'”
    • Last week Evelyn stayed with Shea and her family, because they wanted her to go to Vacation Bible School with them. They had a family night on Saturday where they shared what they learned throughout the week, and each group sang a song. Since she is in Pre-K, this was her first VBS, and it was a hit! She loved it, and she sang and did the motions with everything she had! I am typically not an emotional person, but this got me. Not only did Evelyn enjoy her week, but Shea and Kris along with our other granddaughters Chloe and Cadlyn poured into her and the other children. What a blessing to get to witness one of our babies singing and learning about Christ and the others pouring into the children!
    • This scripture was in my reading the day after the family night. His timing is amazing!
  • Matt. 20:14-15
    • Aren’t you glad the Owner of the Kingdom of Heaven is generous like this? Those who come to know the Lord at the end of their lives (including our friends and loved ones) still receive the same eternal destination as those who came to know Him at an early age.
    • There are benefits of trusting in the Lord at an early age though. There are many more, but here are just a few:
      • The Lord’s guidance
      • His comfort and peace in hard times
      • His Wisdom
      • His Protection
      • Daily Counsel from the Creator of the world
      • Never being alone
  • Matt. 20:24-26 – Jesus didn’t ignore the problem for a while to see if it would go away on it’s own; He dealt with it immediately. He used it as a teaching moment for the disciples and stopped any potential conflicts within the group.

Life Application Resources

.

If you have joined me recently, these weekly life applications from the Bible are examples of some of the comments I write in the Bibles I am giving to my grandchildren when they graduate from high school. The one pictured above will be Evelyn’s. Click here to see the post where I explain this eternal gift idea.

I always share the Bible I am working on, which is for women. It never occurred to me to share one from a man’s perspective until this week. The rose gold Bible is Evelyn’s, and the brown one is the one Jay uses for his personal Bible reading.

He just recently bought a lighter weight paperback Bible for traveling. If you are looking for one to use for something like that, he really likes this one.

I pray these weekly life applications help you in some way. Please share any encouragement and lessons you have learned this week.

Have a Grace & Joy-Filled day!

  1. Love these posts, Susan, I know I tell you that every week and I mean it every week. They just lift me up no matter what kind of week I’m having. We used to look forward to VBS every summer and I’m excited that your grands are getting a chance to experience it too. Jotting down Matthew 20:24-26 now as it has been a hot topic in our house this week! Sending you lots of hugs for a happy and healthy weekend ahead, CoCo
