I am probably dating myself when I ask this question, but did any of you have a “Hope Chest?” I grew up with my grandmother collecting things for me to put in my hope chest. The purpose was to save things with the hope of having them when I got married. It was a way of preparing for the home and family I hoped to have one day.
We are surrounded by blessings everyday, but when you receive a surprise blessing, it can bring you such great joy! I had one of these unexpected surprise blessings this week, and I am still smiling about it!
We enjoy our outdoor sitting area that we built a few years ago. The leaves and birds can make a mess, but it is worth it!
I will never forget the first Christmas of my teaching career. Several students brought me gifts, but one boy had nothing to give. He wanted to give me something as well. I still have the gift he found at the bottom of his backpack – Priceless!
