sheet music of Christian songs

Music really speaks to the soul, or at least it does to mine! Christian music can be uplifting, energizing, worshipful, and encouraging. The lyrics can bring about tears of joy and tears of healing, and a powerful song based on God’s Word can help bring hope and restoration.  There are many songs that have carried me through hard times.  I would like to share my top 11 Christian songs of hope and restoration with you today. I hope they are as encouraging to you as they have been to me.

Although there are so many that I love, these powerful worship songs are the ones the Lord put on my heart today. These songs have some of my favorite lyrics and melodies. There is no way I could rank these in any order! They are some of my favorite Christian songs with their own healing aspects. So, in no particular order here are my top 11 songs with a portion of the lyrics.

music and songs to encourage the heart

#1 Song

“Greater Than All My Regrets” by Tenth Avenue North

Song Lyrics

If I fall, and if I fail, I will trust Your mercy is greater than all of this.
And if I bend and if I break,
I’ll trust the Hands that hold me are greater than all my regrets.
You are greater than all my regrets.

#2 Song

“While I Wait” by Lincoln Brewster

Song Lyrics

Though I don’t understand it
I will worship with my pain
You are God, You are worthy
You are with me all the way

So while I wait, I will worship
Lord, I’ll worship Your name
Though I don’t have all the answers
Still I trust You all the same

#3 Song

“Unredeemed” by Selah

Song Lyrics

The cruelest word, the coldest heart
The deepest wound, the endless dark
The lonely ache, the burning tears
The bitter nights, the wasted years

Life breaks and falls apart
But we know these are

Places where grace is soon to be so amazing
It may be unfulfilled, it may be unrestored
But when anything that’s shattered
Is laid before the Lord
Just watch and see, it will not be unredeemed

#4 Song

“Blessings” by Laura Story

Song Lyrics

We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

‘Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

#5 Song

“God You Are” by We Are Messengers

Song Lyrics

When I was young You called my name
I tried to run, but still You came
And You stepped into the dark
Cause that’s just the kind of God You are

When heaven seems beyond my reach
You still see eternity in me
You’re turning ashes into art
Cause that’s just the kind of God You are

#6 Song

“Please” by Katy Nichole

Song Lyrics

God, I’ve fallen in too deep
It’s nothing You can’t see
I know this desperate soul needs saving
Lord, have mercy on me
Come find me in my need
I’m just a wound away from breaking

Please, come and rescue me
I’m falling to my knees
I need You like the breath I’m breathing
Please, come and win this fight
I’ve let my white flag fly
I know You are the strength I’m needing
Please, oh-oh, please
Jesus, help me please

#7 Song

“Red Sea Road” by Ellie Holcomb

Song Lyrics

We, buried dreams
Laid them deep into the earth behind us
Said, our goodbyes
At the grave but everything reminds us
God knows, we ache
When He asks us to go on
How do we go on?

We will sing, to our souls
We won’t bury our hope
Where He leads us to go
There’s a red sea road
When we can’t, see the way
He will part, the waves
And we’ll never walk alone
Down a red sea road

#8 Song

“Find You Here” by Ellie Holcomb

Song Lyrics

It’s not the news that any of us hoped that we would hear
It’s not the road we would have chosen, no
The only thing that we can see is darkness up ahead
But You’re asking us to lay our worry down and sing a song instead

And I didn’t know I’d find You here
In the middle of my deepest fear, but
You are drawing near
You are overwhelming me, with peace
So I’ll lift my voice and sing
You’re gonna carry us through everything
You are drawing near
You’re overwhelming all my fears, with peace

#9 Song

“I Will” by Citizen’s Way

Song Lyrics

I know you’re feeling overwhelmed
Before the day even begins
But I can see beyond the now
This is not how your story ends
And when you’re at your weakest
Oh I’ve never been more strong
So let me be the one you’re leaning on

So rest your head and cry your tears
Know that I am with you here
When you can’t lift that weight
Believe me when I say I will

#10 Song

“Call It Grace” by Unspoken

Song Lyrics

It’s the light that pierces through you
To the darkest hidden place
It knows your deepest secrets
But it never looks away
It’s the gentle hand that pulls you
From the judgement of the crowd
When you stand before them guilty
And you got no way out

Some may call it foolish and impossible
But for every heart it rescues, it’s a miracle
It’s nothing less than scandalous
This love that took our place
Just call it what it is, call it grace
Call it grace

#11 Song

“The Hurt and The Healer” by MercyMe

Song Lyrics

Why?
The question that is never far away
The healing doesn’t come from being explained
Jesus please don’t let this go in vain
You’re all I have
All that remains

So here I am
What’s left of me
Where glory meets my suffering

I’m alive
Even though a part of me has died
You take my heart and breathe it back to life
I fall into Your arms open wide
When the hurt and the healer collide

  1. I haven’t listened much to contemporary Christian music, but I read these lyrics and they are beautiful! I have heard of ‘Mercy Me’ though cause they had a song a few years back that became mainstream popular. I will listen to a few of these, thanks for sharing! Most of my favorite songs like this are hymns. Music, is indeed, good for the soul.

    1. I love those also. One day I will have to share how the Lord used the song “Even If” in my life. I’m not really ready to share it publicly just yet, but one day. It is a song that prepared me for a really hard situation.
