Life Applications from the Bible (Vol. 52)

There are life applications all throughout the New Testament. Here are a few I found this week in the book of John.

Life Applications

  • John 11:4
    • When our situations and circumstances do not look good from an earthly view, we need to trust Him.
    • We are not able to see the big picture like the Lord does. The things we don’t understand still have purpose.
  • John 12:39-44
    • The Lord can handle and completely take care of our stinky messes!
    • When He gets us out of a bad situation, remove the “grave clothes” and move on!
  • John 12:27
    • He knew that what He was about to go through would be extremely hard and painful, but the purpose/reason He was doing it made it worth it.
      • To bring honor and glory to the Father
      • Because He loved us
      • To give us all eternal life
    • When you have a strong “why,” you can get through the hard times.
    • Love is the strongest “why” you can have!
  • John 13:34 (I was reminded of this one today and convicted!)
    • Jesus’ entire ministry was an example to us. He loved people who:
      • Rejected Him
      • Betrayed Him
      • Spat in His face
      • Talked badly about Him behind His back
      • Denied Him
      • Made up rumors about Him
      • Tortured Him
      • and MANY other things
    • How do we love the people in our lives, regardless of how they treat us?

Life Application Resources

If you have joined me recently, these weekly life applications from the Bible are examples of some of the comments I write in the Bibles I am giving to my grandchildren when they graduate from high school. Click here to see the post where I explain this eternal gift idea.

The rose colored Bible is the one I am using for my youngest granddaughter, and I really love it! The brown study Bible is the one Jay uses.

  1. I needed this so much, Susan! I love all your notes but I will definitely be highlighting “The things we don’t understand still have purpose” in my journal. It’s such a gentle but powerful reminder that He takes our ashes and turns them into beauty on a daily basis. Thanks for always giving us your best sweet friend. I love this series! Hugs, CoCo
