Life Applications from the Bible (Vol. 53)

In James 1:22, the Bible tells us to be a “doer of the Word and not hearers only.” To do what the Word says to do, we need to read the Scriptures and apply what it says to our lives. This is the true meaning of life applications.

As we continue to read the Book of John, let’s look at some of these life applications. Here are a few I found this week, and they all seem to talk about Peace this week.

Life Applications

  • John 14:1 – He told them not to let their hearts be troubled. This implies that you have a choice.
    • He gives the solution/antidote for a troubled heart:
      • Believing in the Father
      • Believing also in Him
    • When your heart is troubled, change your thinking and focus on the Lord and His Goodness. Don’t ignore your feelings or “stuff” them, but focus on Him, and let Him handle your troubled heart.
  • John 14:27
    • He has the ultimate peace, and He gives it to us; we just have to accept it.
    • The world offers us a temporary peace, but He gives us a different peace. His peace is the kind that gets us through things we never thought we would make it through – an eternal peace!
    • This is the peace that helps us keep our hearts from being troubled.
  • John 16:20-22
    • In situations of grief and mourning, we can claim this verse for our believing loved ones – we will see them again!
    • He will turn our sorrows to joy!
  • John 16:33 – He knows what we go through and what we are going to face down the road. He gave us His Word to encourage us through those times. Peace is available in our struggles!

The rose colored Bible is the one I am using for my youngest granddaughter, and I really love it! The brown study Bible is the one Jay uses.
